How to add reviews to your website, step by step

To add reviews to a website, collect them in one place, choose which ones to show, pick a layout and embed it with a snippet of code or a plugin. With VouchRabbit that means connecting your review platforms, approving the best reviews and pasting one script tag into your page.

Decide where the reviews come from

Start with the reviews you already have. Google, Trustpilot, Facebook, G2, Capterra, Yelp and freelance marketplaces all publish reviews publicly, and clients often send kind emails you never reuse. Collect these before asking for new ones.

Pick the reviews that help the most

Specific reviews work better than generic ones. A review that names a result or a problem solved persuades more than 'great service'. Show a mix of ratings if you want the page to feel honest, and keep every review as written.

Check the rules of the platform you took them from and keep a link back to the original where you can.

Choose the right layout for the page

A single large quote suits a landing page hero. A carousel or grid suits a services page. A compact badge suits a footer or checkout page. A pop-up works for pages where you want gentle proof in the corner.

Embed it

Most site builders have a custom code or HTML block. Paste the widget's script tag where you want the reviews to appear. WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Wix and Squarespace all support this, and so does any hand-coded site.

Keep it fresh

Stale reviews look like neglect. A widget that updates when you approve new reviews, and a weekly refresh of your sources, keeps the proof current without a redeploy.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add Google reviews to my website for free?
VouchRabbit's Free plan includes 1 connected review source and the widget with a small VouchRabbit badge. Paste your Google Maps link, approve the reviews and embed the script.
Do I need permission to show customer reviews on my website?
Reviews on public platforms are published by their authors, but each platform has its own terms about reuse. Link back to the original, show reviews as written and check the platform's rules. Ask directly for permission when you quote a private message such as an email.
How do I put the widget on my site?
Copy the one-line script tag from the Widget page in VouchRabbit and paste it where you want the reviews to appear. It works in any site builder that accepts custom HTML or a script, such as WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace and hand-coded sites, and it updates itself when you approve new reviews.
Will reviews on my website help my SEO?
Reviews add fresh, relevant text and can improve how long people stay and whether they convert, which supports your results. Widgets load their content with JavaScript, so do not rely on them as your only source of key page copy.
